Lake Maggiore and the Sacred Mount of the S.S. Trinity of Ghiffa.
The Sacro Monte is located at the foot of Mount Carciago in a wonderful position overlooking Lake Maggiore. A unfinished baroque complex referring to the borromeica conception and architectural models of the Sacred Mountains of Orta and Varese. Consisting of the church of the Sanctuary, three chapels and the cloisters of the Via Crucis, the entire complex is surrounded by 200 hectares of natural reserve.
Discover the Sacred Mountain and Lake Maggiore Ghiffa at his feet. Stay in one of the hotels located on the Borromeo Gulf, a few steps from the lake,from where you will depart to reach by ferry, the famous Borromean Islands.
The Isola Bella, with the home of the Borromeo family, offers to the visitors an elegant and lavish ambience. It contains priceless works of art, tapestries, furniture, statues, paintings, stucco, but also the unusual mosaic grotto, a cool and delightful spot. After visiting the palace, there is access to the garden for a leisurely stroll.
Isola Madre, the largest of the Borromean Islands and the most characteristic for the atmosphere of silence, enchantment: a garden of
rare plants and exotic flowers in which live in freedom peacocks, parrots and pheasants creating the charm of a tropical island.
L'Isola dei Pescatori, the only one of the Borromean islands to be inhabited during all months of the year, is a small village of fifty inhabitants characterized by a small square surrounded by narrow alleys and winding leading to the promenade on the northern tip of the island. Here you can relax at noon, having lunch with a magnificent view of the lake.
Finally we discover the nature and simple walks around the Sacro Monte, very easy and affordable for all "shoes"
PROGRAM 2 NIGHTS/3 DAYS.
Day 1: arrival and accommodation in double room at the 3 * hotels in Stresa. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: after breakfast, meeting with your guide who will accompany you throughout the day. Sightseeing tour of the Borromean Islands. Visit Isola Bella with the Borromeo Palace and Gardens. Lunch at a restaurant on Isola dei Pescatori. After lunch, the tour continues to Isola Madre and return to the hotel by boat. Relax walk along the lake enjoying a drink before dinner (not included). Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: breakfast and short and easy walk, with a naturalistic guide, in the nature around the Sacred Mountain. Lunch in a restaurant at the foot of the Sacred Mountain, with magnificent views of the lake. End of the packet.
Included: 2 half board in double room, 1 full day tour guide, half day naturalistic guide, two lunches. Private boat transfer to the Borromean Islands, entrance tickets to the palaces and gardens of Borromean Islands (Isola Madre and Isola Bella)
Not included: drinks, bus transfers, anything not mentioned in "included"
